Within the UK EPD are the main link with Munich University who have developed a fantastic variable wave forming system. This system utilises an adjustable obstacle on the river bed, which can be shaped and reshaped to form the perfect wave for the prevailing conditions. This design is not the shallow high velocity type wave system but a method of optimising heads and flows to generate a standing or breaking wave feature ideal for kayaking and canoe surfing, and even a surf board with fins can ride the waves.
